A valid UK or EU driving licence
It’s obvious but it’s still easy to forget. The licence needs to have been valid for at least two years and if you have an EU licence or a UK paper licence rather than a photocard you’ll need to show additional photo ID.
Proof of current UK address
This doesn’t have to match your licence, it just needs to be something official like a recent utility bill, bank statement, or a letter from HMRC. It can be physical or digital and it’s best if it’s from the last three months. If you are an EU licence holder, you’ll need to be a UK resident.

If you have a UK licence you’ll need to generate a licence check code so that we can view your driving record. You can use the gov.uk site to do this using your National Insurance number, licence number, and the postcode on your licence.

We don’t accept cash so you’ll need to have a card ready when we call you back to confirm your booking. That’s the point where we’ll be asking for payment so it’s helpful to have your card details to hand.

Our highly resilient packing boxes are an essential for transporting all kinds of goods. They provide ample storage space to safely transport your goods to their destination. Our medium boxes measure 47cm x 31.5cm x 30cm in area and 44 litres in volume. Our large boxes measure 53cm x 53cm x 41cm in area and 115 litres in volume.

Pace Van Hire – our history
We’ve been operating as a local family business in south London since the 1950s. A lot has changed since then and we’re no exception. We used to go by Ace Rent a Van before rebranding as the Pace Van Hire you see today. We’ve expanded over the years and, in 2018, we opened a new branch in Croydon to better serve the Kingston area. A lot has remained the same though. We’re still a family business, we still put our customers first, and we still provide excellent van hire service.

From Kingston, take A240 to Northey Avenue. Go over two roundabouts and follow A217 and B2230 to Chiltern Road. From here, take B271 to Carshalton, and continue through to Croydon. Follow the A232 straight onto Epsom Road, which is where you’ll find us.
By TRAIN and TRAM
From Kingston train station, get the South Western railway towards Waterloo, getting off at Wimbledon. From Wimbledon tram station, get a tram towards Elmers End until Wandle Park. We’re an eight-minute walk from here – just start heading south and then take two rights onto Epsom Road to get to our Croydon branch.
By BUS
In Kingston Upon Thames, get the X26 bus from Cromwell Road bus station towards Croydon. Get off at Carshalton High Street. From this same stop, get the 407 bus towards Caterham until Courtney Road. We’re a short five-minute walk from this stop. Turn right down Courtney Road and then take a left onto Epsom Road.
