What do you need to hire a van
in Hither Green?
A valid UK or EU driving licence
It’s obvious but it’s still easy to forget. The licence needs to have been valid for at least two years and if you have an EU licence or a UK paper licence rather than a photocard you’ll need to show additional photo ID.
Proof of current UK address
This doesn’t have to match your licence, it just needs to be something official like a recent utility bill, bank statement, or a letter from HMRC. It can be physical or digital and it’s best if it’s from the last three months. If you are an EU licence holder, you’ll need to be a UK resident.

If you have a UK licence you’ll need to generate a licence check code so that we can view your driving record. You can use the gov.uk site to do this using your National Insurance number, licence number, and the postcode on your licence.
A debit or
credit card
We don’t accept cash so you’ll need to have a card ready when we call you back to confirm your booking. That’s the point where we’ll be asking for payment so it’s helpful to have your card details to hand.

The drive will take around 13 minutes. Take Springbank Road to South Circular Road. Head north towards Ardmere Cottages, then turn right onto Beacon Road. Take another right, followed by two lefts. Take another left onto the South Circular Road and then take the 3rd exit at the roundabout to reach Sidcup Road.
By train
Take a Southeastern train from Hither Green to New Eltham. This is an 11-minute walk from our branch.
By bus
Travelling on the bus will take 40 minutes in total. Take the 273 from Hither Green Station to Elmstead Lane. This is a 14-minute walk from our branch.
Reach our New Cross branch: 2-4 Pomeroy Street, New Cross, London, SE14 5BG.
By car
It will take 18 minutes to drive to us. Take Nightingale Grove, Ennersdale Road, Hither Green Lane, and Courthill Road to Lewisham High Street. You can then take the B236, B218, and B2142 to Pomeroy Street.
By train
The journey will take you 49 minutes. Take a Southeastern train from Hither Green to London Bridge. Then transfer onto a Southern train to Queens Road Peckham. This is a 9-minute walk away.
By bus
Take the 181 from Theodore Road to Lewisham Centre, followed by the 21 to Pomeroy Street. The journey will take 40 minutes.
